Bidor Half Marathon 2009

What : Bidor Half Marathon 2009
When : 26th April 2009
Where : Dewan Muhibbah Bidor, Perak
Distance : 21.17km (YS Lee's GPS) and 10km
Time : 7.00am
My Timing : 1'48'39 (Target Time : 1'55'00) (Position 63)
Weekly Mileage : 73.97km
Mission Complete!

woke up at 3am prepared my stuff going for bidor half marathon together with stanley, chin teck sin, kelvin ng and picked up chen keat hoong at der sungai buloh bridge. drive all der way far from KL to bidor seriously a lot of energy and effort needed to guarantee safety of ours. great thing was we arrived there safely.

started my run with a comfortable pace with slightly more than 5 minutes per km for der 1st few kilometers until my feet felt a little bit tired in 10th kilometer (51 minutes). der pressure came always during 2nd half, i tried very hard to increase more speed in der 11th kilometer, somehow there were hills which slowed me down a bit, at that moment i really need a pacer who could lead me all der way to finishing point but it was impossible. in 12th kilometer, der route was absolutely need to test my patience, bcoz der uphill was long until making u-turn at der water station at 15km mark. time when making u-turn i saw lai fong sang, gaby, andrew were juz behind me few hundred meters, i had confidence they could chase me and somehow sayur me in der last minute, surprisingly they were not and i guessed still far. i had no choice to pace with ppl in front of me, must follow them tightly. way when going back was easier bcoz running downhills all der way. i saw tay poh chye in front of me at der last 2km, this time i knew i could beat him, sayur him and no more turning
my head back. came to der last 1km, my mental almost down already, bcoz very pressure that one runner had overtaken me, with der spirit of pia (as PMs say!) i got to run all out in 400m remaining, i overtook der runner again who overtook me, wow! finally der end of der race!

i was very happy to break my previous record in half marathon again since last year seremban half marathon with 1'57'53 position 57. hope der next half marathon i can do better than this! well done WKM! next stop, makan wan tan mee! yummy! sluurp! hehehe...

Congratulation to our members Ronnie and Stanley who got 3rd place in team event! mengharumkan nama pacemakers!

This race has GOOD and BAD :
GOOD :
1. sufficient water stations
2. distance markers for every kilometer

BAD :
1. i had registered 21km for kelvin earlier however der organiser not being responsible by letting kelvin using der 10km bib to run, and said that was not their fault. so he had to run 2 loops to complete 21km. felt very sorry to him.

bye bye bidor! see u next year!
