When : 2nd August 2009
Where : Stadium Shah Alam , Shah Alam
Distance : 21.71km (YS Lee GPS) & 11km
My Timing : 62'35.09 (11km)
this was one of der most difficult road race i have done with so many up & downhills along der entire 11km, i do not know what is der exact distance but i m sure it is more than 11km. i have juz recovered from sick since last sunday, in addition der weather condition was hazy, dry & vehicles around, i could hardly perform well. imagine if i ran 22km today, i think i could not be able to come back to der stadium.
i started with a very fast pace since i was lining up der front row, i pushed too hard to avoid der crowd after awhile i felt very tired, i slowed down my pace immediately then i felt better. unexpectedly, there was a long stretch in der beginning cause me breath harder, and i felt more tired then. after chen pong pong 'sayur-ed' me in around 2km mark, i felt like i was left behind and i had no more intention to continue anymore. awhile later, ghejan overtook me from behind.
i was lucky that adam loh who paced me in 5th km, eventhough i was very struggled but at least he let me follow, he asked me do not push too hard and i will do better. later on i was slowing down and felt my body not really could run anymore. going to der finally long stretch when i saw abang sham overtook me again in der last 1km. i wanted to follow him but i could not. going into der stadium, somemore must go through der tunnel, der tunnel like oven man! i pushed all der way to der finishing line with no eyes to see!
mr and mrs khoo saw me and asked me :
running and walking, which is more difficult?
i replied :
when i have done running
i would say running is difficult!
but when i have done walking,
i would say walking is difficult!
everybody looked at me and ask me why am i so suffer, in fact i juz need more 100 plus and oxygen, almost pengsan in der stadium. overall i enjoyed der race, well organised, juz that der wastage of giving out bottles of water not really impressed me.
