when jack passed der sash to me, i was so desperate to overtake der 3rd-place man, when i made u-turn, i thought we had to juz go straight to der finishing point, but we need to turn left to a very sloppy hill, there's where michael overtook me (mixed team luckily). i didn't want to give up, and tried to close gap, i saw jack and asked him was der runner behind far, he replied very far so no need to pressure myself so much, but i still need to chase der 3rd-place runner infront so i did not care too much. der gap between 3rd and 4th place was 100m away, i tried my best to close der gap but it was nearly impossible to overtake him, so close yet so far, somemore it was 9am already, sun was burning me. i finished this relay with 12'43.90, 4th place in men open category.
many thanks to my team mates fauzan, zishen, wern tien and jack, without all ur spirit and support, i think i would not be able to taste der happiness. i was happy with myself because i had done my best. i believe we can do a lot better next year, hopefully we will still stick back to same team mates and revenge for next year.

congrats ^.^
2nd leg and 4th leg are a bit under distance, less than 3km according to GPS measurement. 1st, 3rd and 5th are longer than expected. so our strategy was a bit wrong.
1: 3.05km
2: 2.95km
3: x.xx
4: 2.86km
5: x.xx
Anyway, you did very good! congrats and thanks for the hardwork!
curious to know the real distance for 3rd & 5th runners. xD
fabio. thanks!
zishen. thanks! i m happy too joining u guys. from my estimation, 5th runner was more than 3km (3.2km as expected). becoz i could measure my pace in race faster than time trial however my race time was 30 sec slower.
as for this kind of important race like ekiden run. we must go surveying before der race day to avoid disappointment. we were lucky enough to get top 5, becoz 1st leg runners are all sprinting specialists. fauzan could run 7th was very good already. becoz 1st leg 3rd to 7th were close
