my piano experience

i still remember my piano teacher first taught me, playing piano should always curve my hand like holding a tennis ball. yes i used to play piano with only fingers moved, it was like dead people playing piano with no adequate emotions. yes i always did that, after some time i followed and changed my style of playing like what teacher said to me.

after that i learned how to recognise notes, duration of beats, major/minor, chords, triads and so on. i was very quick in memorising and understand theory, i almost remembered all the things that was written in the book within a day except those italian terms which took me long time to digest it. only a day memorised until grade 5, i thought it was unbelievable!

this was the thing that i learned

for practical, i practised a lot in my piano center, i loved that certain piano very much because the keys was hard enough and the sound was more powerful than other pianos. my teacher allowed me to jump grade up to grade 3 when i started learning. she said i was quick enough to catch up in 2 months time if i still can remember. i mean it was unbelievable to jump grade within a short time. however i did not go through some important things that i needed to.

i did not start learning piano from young, actually i wanted to, when i first learn piano lesson during primary school time, i loved to learn but due to some reason i could not. somehow i was happy to play it excellently when i learned it. i had to stop it because i always involved in sports especially in martial arts, always got injured fingers. and due to time and money constraint i need to stop because the fee was quite expensive.

i always admired maksim mrvica as he is one of the most fast-fingers players, his fingers are fantastic, his emotions and passion of playing is brilliant.

the original 'flight of the bumble bee'

new world concerto - symphony no. 9

lang lang is favorite idol who i admired, he is just as fantastic as maksim mrvica does, quick fingers, fantastic emotions, people say he is crazy, what so crazy? if people can play well in piano called crazy? people who call pianists crazy are crazy people really!

Strauss - Fledermaus, Op.56 piano

if i start revise and play back piano, it will be difficult already as i have not been practising for quite some time. but sometimes listening is better than playing it, depends! for me i like playing it more than just listen to it because is my product of playing, i can see satisfaction when i know how to play a song and will continue it. the most difficult song i learned was 'marrige d'amour'. i kept challenging myself to play this well but still can't play it well. now almost impossible already. haha... share with you til here, see ya!
