a boring sunday!

9th August 2009

after having 'dim sum' as breakfast in der morning with kin man, i feel bored after came back home at 10.30am. i decided to take longer rest by not having any long runs during weekends as i m still exwhausted ith races in consecutive weeks since May or earlier. i need to rest my body & mind, hoping to have better performances.

i have done some gym workouts, swimming, badminton on wednesday, hardcore speed workout with ronnie on thursday, and most hardcore taekwondo practices on friday. i realised that upper body actually is much more important than lower body according to this article i have read. i have been running so much and i realised i have never improved.

after searching for more information, i have a thought of changing my strategy to improve myself in sports. i will concentrate more strength training and speed workouts rather than running so much throughout months with just a bit of improvement with long time training routine. i guess this is going to be more effective for me.

after a long day dream today, my studies suddenly comes to my mind and it reminds me that 'WKM, if u still do not want to study me, i m going to fail u this semester man!', i m lazy to open books on sunday! somehow my mind tells me that i should at least spend an hour to revise what i have learned on weekdays. read or do not read? oh man! when will i graduate? :p

"hey, go study now!!!" baba scolded

As I am still a beginner (who can only run non-stop for about 40 minutes although start running 1 year ago), I should not dare suggest to marathon finisher.

But I found Kiara Hill is a tough place for running. The whole route is quite inclined. So it is a hillwork. I found that 10 minutes of it is equivalent to 20+ on plain ground. Definitely will increase stamina. And after two months it increased mine a lot.

Of course I train alone, since my 30-minute-only ability cannot yet train with regular runner. :(

yeah. . . strength training is equally important as speed and endurance training. u must balance both to achieve maximum impact.

start using the rubber band for resistant and agility training. u can always put the band next to the pillow and do leg press and chess press of 8-16 repetitions for a start then add more as the days pass.
