FTAAA Cross Country

this year's cross country was at taman rimba kiara, it was tougher compare to last year one in lake garden. i decided not to push too hard since der number of participants turned up was not so many, so there would be certainly a chance for me to put a medal into my medal tally. i did not expect myself to do a fantastic timing in this cross country as this is not me 'bread & butter'. der most important thing is to run a injury-free race.

yes, i started with slow pace with chen kwok, it required us to run a loop around der lake and get into der jungle trail. i estimated it would not be as wet as i thought but der route was absolutely tough with uphills. it was slippery and dangerous. i was overtaken by so many runners then, i did not want to waste so much of energy running so fast in der trail bcoz i wanted to reserve energy for tomoro's gym training. however i overtook a lot of runners when came out from der trail. i felt more comfortable on der road and increased pace.

after a while, we were needed to run into der trail again! aiyo, really tiring me! i decided to walk-run along der route bcoz i had no intention to do well in this competition. came out from der trail again! running on der road this time, but this time a lot of uphills. i was very tired, i walked der long uphill which was around 600m. i had not been walking in a race since seremban half marathon last year and i did it this time.

came to der final trail, i think was around 1km to 2km to go. i ran a bit faster this time, my heartbeat was so quick bcoz i worried of falling down and injured my knee. der finally 1km to go, finally i saw der finishing point ahead this time, and finished it with relatively slow pace. i was happy that this has finally over, i do not have a suitable shoes in this kind of competition, this is one of der factor which frustrating me. i did enjoy this kind of competition once in a year but not so often. well it was a great experience and i will come back next year, maybe...
