der most AMKAN day of der year!!!

i started so fast and i was in der top 3 position in der 1st 300m. a while later, meyya and some young runners overtook me in not even 1km. i was trying extremely hard to chase them back like a dog and hardly sustain my pace well. i had to run outside der lane bcoz 10km and 15km runners joined us in almost 1.5km so i need to zig zag here and there. weng khong overtook me at 3km and i tried to overtake him back, however i almost ran out of gas liao. some more der mashall directed me to der wrong direction, he asked me to go straight but he point to der right hand side, really tiring me man, what der hell! der most difficult part was der last hill located at last 1km, at that moment my mental almost destroyed, physically tired too but still need to increase my pace for der final stretch. i got 6th placing (missed by 1 place) with time 25'44.30 and it was certainly more than 5km (6km perhaps). very AMKAN like SHIT!!! although i could see a big improvement in me but i still not up to THAT level yet. i think i don't have enough stamina to improve further. hmm... certainly i will come back next year for der revenge.

Have been following your blog. Know that you are very good runner. But I know what's wrong. The way you write and think is very negative. You have a lot of potential, all you need to do is start tuning the way you think and write, from negative to positive. Read some books like "Awaken the Giant within" from anthony robbins and I am sure you will be very good. Or maybe small little book like "Who moved my cheese" is fun. We need to turn every event into a positive one and move us upward, instead of blaming everything (the weather, the stomach, the organizer, the water station ...). Wish you all the best.

thanks lee and yap,

should be proud of myself, i should think negatively, in competition there must be winning and losing. i will definitely practise harder so that next time can achieve my goal

besides your running, hill training & resistant training (i hope u still use the rubberband) perhaps you should do cross training - SWIMMING. Swimming is one the the best exercise to increase your stamina and lend more strength to your arm. Do not swim aggresively but a moderate & consistent pace for 60 minutes with a short break in between.

if u can swim at least once a week, that would propel you further. i'll start my swimming session soon at bukit jalil to prepare for pbim. i was told that friday is FOC otherwise have to pay rm4 per entry. will check this out!

agreed with ahYap.com that u must always think positively.. . . i like to book - who move my cheese.
